The main scientific activity: studying the implications, costs and advantages of:

- the integration in the EU and NATO (from the perspective of the transition to the market economy);

- the globalization of economies;

- the new knowledge-based economy.

The research area includes:

  • the demographic, educational and occupational dimensions of the workforce in Romania;
  • employment (volume, occupational, educational, sectoral, regional structures, etc.);
  • unemployment and unemployment rate (dimensions, typology, intensity, structural characteristics, prevention and combating mechanisms, etc.);
  • policies and labor market management mechanisms
  • the system of interrelationships between labor market policies and other types of policies (macroeconomic, fiscal, monetary, currency, social stabilization);
  • salary cost and labor cost;
  • the impact of the direct and indirect cost of labor (of the tax system) on employment, the expansion of the parallel labor market, the fracturing of economic and social cohesion;
  • continuing professional education and training;
  • phenomena of "decapitalization of human capital";
  • disparities in the education process; the school-labor market relationship;
  • internal and external migration - proportion, intensity, structures, flows;
  • free movement of people and labor force;
  • industrial relations, dialogue, partnership and social concertation;
  • information/consultation/transparency.
